# Slots

Slots are special sockets of a certain color, located near the pilot on the pilot's Indicator screen. In these slots, you can put reinforcement gems of the corresponding color.

Slots are opened automatically at LVL 6, 16, and 25 (one slot at each level listed).

Bottom line: a pilot may have a maximum of three slots.

Slots are shown on the pilot's indicator screen: Red, Green, and Purple. The color is given randomly when a slot is opened. There can be more than one slot of the same color, for example, all slots can be red. Also, pilots can have a special multicolored slot where any colored Gem can be installed.

There are gems for Income (green), Durability (red) and Luck (purple). There are no gems for the Capacity indicator.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.cosmicfomo.com/game-mechanics/characters-and-in-game-items/slots.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
